Leaving Care Personal Advisor - Blackburn

Are you a passionate, dedicated Leaving Care Personal Advisor looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Leaving Care Personal Advisor to join a Children’s Services team based in Blackburn. 

Umbrella Rate: £20 per hour

Duration: 18/03/2024 – 3 months 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hrs/week – Hybrid (WFH 2 days if needed)

Leaving Care Personal Advisor role: Full JD Available

• Direct work with young people, managing your own caseload.
• Provide support and interventions to young people in, or Leaving Care, aged 16 – 25.
• Act as first point of contact for the young people.
• Make visits to young people and keep constant contact.
• Carry out assessment of need post 18.
• Provide practical and emption support based on assessment and pathway plan.
• Support the young people to have the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to live independently.
• Assist and support with budgeting and spending.
• Support with, and in finding accommodation, training, employment.
• Work with housing and accommodation providers to ensure that young Leaving Care people are placed in “suitable accommodation” including promotion of LCT supported lodgings in order to support young people to maintain tenancies.
• Ensure the young people have healthy lifestyles and access to heath support when they need it.
• Work closely with other agencies to engage YP in EET opportunities and other support.
• Advocate on behalf of the young people where necessary.
• Ensure a high standard of case recording, monitoring and administrative records, including finance, computerised and manual systems.

Essential Requirements

• UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
• NVQ Level 4 – childcare/ social care or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of working with young people Leaving Care up to 25 years
• Experience of working with young people who have been the victims of, or who are vulnerable to exploitation, gang involvement, drug and alcohol misuse or criminal activity
• A high level of understanding of the educational, employment and social care needs of young people Leaving Care and making the step into adulthood
• Knowledge of the formal assessment process and the ability to formulate, implement and reviews pathway plans
• Enhanced DBS registered to the update service
