This post is full-time and is offered on an open-ended basis. Glasgow College UESTC recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. In UESTC’s home city, Chengdu, we educate over 2,000 undergraduate engineers; we have also established a second college on Hainan island in the south of China, which we expect will grow to a similar size over the next five years. The language of teaching and assessment is English and students receive degrees from both the University of Glasgow and UESTC. We are looking for an experienced individual to help us maintain the highest standards of English language education in Chengdu and Hainan. You will help us on our journey of continuous improvement and ensure that our English language curricula and pedagogy are innovative and impactful. You will be based at Glasgow University, with frequent visits to our Chengdu and Hainan campuses. You will work flexibly across all three locations (and others, as necessary) to fulfil this role. You will be responsible for a variety of teaching, training and administrative tasks associated with our English language provision and will also engage in related educational scholarship activities. The role involves the maintenance and development of ESAP (English for Specific Academic Purposes) courses, course materials and assessment resources, in the field of electrical, electronic and communications engineering. It also involves working directly with students and working on teaching, assessment and professional development activities with the EAP teaching staff based in China.
