East Sussex College Group is a leading FE college and one of the largest providers of post-16 Education in the Southeast. We have a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding Health & Social Care Lecturer to join our Team and be at the forefront of our 16-18 programmes.
Ideally the successful candidate should possess a broad background in the field of Health & Social Care to be teaching across a range of qualifications alongside a well-established team of practitioners. These include the BTEC L1 Diploma Health and Social Care, NCFE/CACHE L2 Diploma in Health & Social Care and the BTEC L3 Diploma/Extended Diploma Health and Social Care. Candidates must be educated from L3 to degree level Health & Social Care or a related field and possess a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
Candidates must have extensive industry experience or be able to evidence outstanding levels of performance within their career to date. The department is committed to upholding the high standards expected of students progressing into the sector and the expectation of the successful applicant is that they will share these values and complement the team’s ambition to produce outstanding practitioners of the future.
Main duties include:
– Being able to teach and assess across a range of Health & Social Care programmes.
– Establish and maintain effective relationships with employers and learners that promotes the timely achievement of learner’s qualifications and programmes within the agreed timescale.
– Provide appropriate information, advice, teaching, learning and assessment relevant to the individual.
-Work closely with employers, managers, and curriculum staff where applicable to ensure timely completion and achievement of students’ qualifications.
– Compliance with ESFA and other authorities with respect to the accurate and full completion of learner start, review and completion paperwork and any policies and procedures associated with teaching, learning and assessment.
– Plan, manage & organise a caseload of learners.
The ideal candidate will:
– Possess Health & Social Care industry experience, qualifications and occupational competence up to a minimum of Level 3
– Have a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one building on previous experience in a HE or FE environment.
– Hold a TAQA IQA qualification or equivalent (desirable) i.e., V1
– Flexibility to work evenings 1 day a week
– Experience of working to challenging deadlines.
– Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
– Possess excellent IT skills and the ability to quickly learn new system
