Hugh Baird College has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative Lecturer to join our Automotive team.Hugh Baird College has recently invested in the redevelopment of our workshop space to encompass Electric and Hybrid Vehicle technology. Development of this provision is central to the Colleges vision.We are looking for an individual who is passionate about Automotive technologies and can share this excitement with students of all ages. This role is perfect for someone wanting to work in Further Education and share their knowledge with the next generation of Automotive industry professionals.The successful candidate will have a strong background in the Automotive industry and will also have experience of teaching within a Further Education setting. The department delivers qualifications in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair from Level 1 up to Level 3. Candidates should be qualified to at least Level 3 and will have an appropriate teaching qualification, whilst possession of assessor awards would be an additional advantage.Key Criteria for This Job Role
A level 3 qualification in Automotive or a related area *A Cert Ed or equivalentFull or part-time teaching experience up to Level 3 in Automotive. *Experience of developing high quality resources and teaching materials which meet course specifications and learning outcomes. *Experience of utilising assessments outcomes to accurately determine learner starting points and support substantial and sustained progress. *Experience of developing external partnerships with employers and stakeholders to enrich teaching and learning. *
