We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Building Services Engineering to support the School in delivering its commitments to teaching, research and income generation in the general area of construction. The post holder will support the future operation and enhancement of the undergraduate and postgraduate Building Services Engineering programmes and contribute to the teaching of our Building Services Engineering related programmes – including supervision of level 6 and 7 projects and postgraduate research students.

The successful applicant will have a good BEng/MEng or MSc in Building Services Engineering (or similar engineering related subject) and a PhD in a relevant area as well as a successful track record of research or industrial experience in Building Services Engineering, and an ability to develop research activity. Particular specialisms of interest to the School would include (but are not limited to): Alternative Energy Technology, Intelligent Building and the ability to teach relevant design and modelling software. Teaching experience in Higher Education to first-degree level is also essential.

Utilising excellent communication skills, the successful applicant will have an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and to be able to develop links and opportunities with industrial partners. The School of Engineering & Computing has further been successful in the setting up and running of Building Services Engineering courses overseas, requiring the successful applicant to have the ability and willingness to work overseas for short periods.
