This post will support the teaching and learning provision of Consumer Behaviour and Marketing within the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development. The role holder will be involved in the design and delivery of a range of teaching activities in the area of Consumer Behaviour and Marketing, using a variety of approaches on courses, assessment and marking and as well as doctoral supervision. The role aims to develop all students academically, using their knowledge and experience. Relevant programmes in the School include BSc Consumer Behaviour and Marketing and MSc in Consumer Behaviour. Flexible arrangement 1.0-0.8 FTE would be possible. The appointee will join the Agri-Food Economics & Marketing Department which sits within the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development (SAPD) of the University of Reading. The School is global in its outlook and has an international reputation for both teaching and research. It is ranked 16th in the World QS subject rankings for Agriculture and Forestry in 2023. The School has an established reputation for inter-disciplinary research. Within the University of Reading, SAPD has strong links with the Henley Business School and the Departments of Economics, Geography & Environmental Science and Food & Nutritional Sciences. The appointee will be expected to engage with other relevant groupings within the University. Main duties and responsibilities Teaching and learning: Deliver teaching of the highest quality across a range of modules and levels in the area of Consumer Behaviour and Marketing. Apply effective teaching methods, materials and assessment techniques, recognising cultural, equality and diversity challenges. Reflect on student feedback, student performance and peer observation in order to enhance modules and teaching. Set, mark and assess student coursework and examinations and provide timely and useful feedback to students. Supervise the work of students on projects, dissertations, field trips, or placements. Support and encourage students’ academic, personal and professional development, particularly through the personal tutor role. Ensure that module design and delivery comply with quality standards and regulations. Leadership & Management: Take on leadership roles such as Programme Director, Admissions Tutor, or Examinations Officer. Provide academic leadership to those working within subject programme areas as a module convenor for a number of modules. Participate in University-wide projects or working groups, or be a member of a School board or committee.
