Overview of the Role Are you a diagnostic radiographer with an interest in education? Would you like to develop and contribute to teaching and scholarship activities in Diagnostic Imaging? This is your opportunity to be part of a forward thinking team to enhance the profession through innovative education. Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a research intensive Russell Group University? This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes in Diagnostic Radiography, Diagnostic Imaging and Medical Imaging. You will be based within the Institute’s Department of Specialist Science Education; a vibrant community of around 30 academic staff focussed on excellence in student education. You will draw upon your clinical experience to deliver high quality teaching and scholarship in the field of Diagnostic Imaging. You will contribute to student supervision, tutoring and administrative duties, as well as, to the Institute and School through involvement in novel approaches to student education and related scholarship. The post-holder needs to be able to work well both as part of a team and autonomously. Main Duties and Responsibilities As a Lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging, at Grade 7, your main duties will include: Deliver teaching informed by research and best practice for BSc Diagnostic Radiography, MSc Diagnostic Imaging and MSc Medical Imaging within the Institute; Undertake a full teaching and assessment load, developing own teaching materials and methods and utilise innovative approaches to teaching to enhance the student learning experience and ensure that defined learning objectives are met at postgraduate and undergraduate levels; Contribute to the planning and development of modules and programmes including review and evaluation in line with quality assurance mechanisms; Contribute to the recruitment and selection of students; respond to queries from prospective students; Engage in initiatives and projects designed to encourage new styles of deep, effective learning and enhance the overall pattern of the student learning experience; Participate in the effective supervision of Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in academic and pastoral capacities; To act as module/programme leader ensuring that modules/programmes run to the required standard; To participate in clinical education, including; clinical skills education, audit, clinical simulation, liaison with relevant Trusts and staff; Conduct individual or collaborative scholarly projects to contribute to the strategic agenda and priorities of the Institute; Promote the values of collegiality and build internal and external contacts and participate in networks; To maintain a safe working environment, engage actively in own continuous professional development, and undertake administrative processes.
