To support our continuing growth, we are seeking to appoint a new Lecturer in Dietetics and a new Lecturer in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, within the Department of Occupational Therapy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics  within the School of Health and Life Sciences. Within a multidisciplinary School, the Department of Occupational Therapy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics delivers three highly successful programmes: BSc (Hons) Human Nutrition and Dietetics and BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy as well as the MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-registration) and contributes to the university’s core research excellence, fostered via Research Centre for Health (ReaCH). The department has a strong applied health focus to all teaching and research activities. We work in partnership with staff, students and external stakeholders embedding excellence, engagement and energy into every aspect of our activities. As a Lecturer in our Department you will have a focus on providing high-quality learning and teaching that is underpinned by scholarly activity. We are keen to receive applications from people who will enhance our delivery of and reputation in Human Nutrition and Dietetics although expertise in other related areas is welcomed.

Applicants who wish to apply for the Lecturer in Dietetics post, should hold a MSc level degree or working towards a postgraduate qualification in an appropriate area related to Human Nutrition and Dietetics and be a registered Dietitian with the HCPC. Applicants who wish to apply for the Lecturer in Human Nutrition and Dietetics post should hold a MSc level degree or working towards a postgraduate qualification in an appropriate area related Human Nutrition and Dietetics and ideally be a registered Nutritionist (e.g. AfN, BASES) or a registered Dietitian with the HCPC.

Lecturers are expected to contribute to the delivery and assessment of existing modules, supervision, and the enhancement of the student experience our BSc (Hons) Human Nutrition and Dietetics and other postgraduate programmes delivered by the School.  Prior experience of supporting student learning, teaching and assessment in higher education and/or in industry/practice settings (e.g. NHS/ third sector) is essential. The Department of Occupational Therapy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics promotes innovation in learning and teaching and, therefore, we are keen to appoint an individual with experience of e-learning and online environments. A higher education teaching qualification and/or Fellow status with AdvanceHE is desirable. The post holders will also be expected to contribute to ensuring curricula are current and compliant with internal and external regulatory frameworks (e.g. BDA and HCPC)
