Job description

Bedford College, are currently recruiting for a Lecturer in Fabrication and Welding at our Bedford Campus.

Lecturers at Bedford College, play a pivotal role in the success of our students to:

  • To prepare, deliver and assess subject specialisms on a range of courses and levels to include Fabrication and Welding
  • To support and guide students to achieve success and realise their potential.
  • To manage students’ learning and provide a high quality learning experience.
  • To contribute pro-actively to developments in the Centre in innovative teaching.

Ideal candidates will have experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Recognised Teacher Qualification (PGCE, CertEd, QTS)
  • Level 3 relevant qualification in welding or equivalent experience
  • GSCE Maths and English (grades A – C) or equivalent

Connolly Foundation Incentive Scheme

Successful candidates who will be entering the education sector directly from a relevant industry role will be eligible for a payment of £5,000 from The Connolly Foundation (subject to the rules of the scheme).  Candidates who do not hold a teaching qualification will be employed as Trainee Lecturers and will have different terms and conditions applicable than those outlined in this advert, alongside being enrolled on a PGCE qualification.
