Job description

This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week. We will also consider applications to work as a job share, or part-time. The University supports hybrid working, e.g. working from home on days when no teaching or other student-facing activities are scheduled. The School of Media and Communication at Westminster is looking for a Lecturer to support our new BA in Games Art, which comes on stream in September 2024. The Lecturer in Games Art will be part of the Creative Technology and Design team, teaching Games Art to students across our Animation, Illustration, Graphic Design, and Games Art courses. You will lead some modules, and may be considered for the role of course leader on the BA Games Art. This role will include working with colleagues to develop content for this new course across areas such as digital 2D and real-time 3D art techniques. And will require experience of Maya and/or 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite, Substance 3D, Unreal and/or Unity. An ideal candidate will have experience teaching in higher education on a similar degree, and/or experience of working in an industry role related to Game Art. Support and training are available, and we encourage all new Lecturers to complete the Post Graduate Certificate in HE if necessary, which is run within the University for colleagues at no cost. Our Creative Technology and Design students learn through studio practice and experiential learning, working collaboratively with students from other year groups and courses. Scheduled learning includes lectures, briefings, work reviews, seminars, workshops, working on live projects, student awards and competitions and visiting industry professionals.
