Job description

We have various posts available that are full time, working 35 hours per week. We have some permanent and some fixed term opportunities.

Our University is a place where discoveries are made, barriers are broken, diversity is celebrated and where everyone is welcome.

Westminster Business School is embarking on an exciting development journey and is seeking to recruit 34 academics. With 7000 students from all over the world we are one of the largest Business Schools in London and have a global perspective. We are inclusive and innovative, inspiring students and colleagues to realise their full potential, driving social mobility and making the world more sustainable, healthier and better place.

We welcome practitioners with extensive up-to-date industry experience, knowledge and practice, and solid academic backgrounds. The available posts sit within the Westminster Business School in the School of Management and Marketing. You will become part of a community of around 65 full time and 35 freelance academic staff and 2,400+ students with a shared focus on business management, sustainability, marketing management, marketing communications and digital marketing in an international context.

The School of Management and Marketing is at the forefront of contemporary education, offering dynamic courses that reflect the evolving landscape of marketing. Our undergraduate programmes cover a spectrum of modern marketing disciplines, including Marketing Management, International Marketing, Marketing Communications and Marketing and Data Analytics and a range of postgraduate marketing programmes along with Business Management, MBA and more specialist management courses in Sustainability, Sport, Retail, Tourism, Events and Hospitality. In our pursuit of teaching and research excellence, we strive on innovation and industry relevance.

The School is looking to strengthen its team with Lecturers in Management strategy and development skills, coaching skills, organisational behaviour, sustainability, digital, data analytics, retail, marketing brands, digital marketing and communication data analytics, UX design, and emerging technologies such as VR/AR and AI.

In addition to the above specialist area, postholders will teach across general management and/or marketing core courses at UG and PG levels. The areas outlined above should guide applications.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in technology-enhanced learning practices. Successful candidates will also benefit from our in-house bespoke teaching training programme.

You will be expected to work closely with Course Leaders, Module Leaders and other members of the course team. You will contribute to the development of teaching materials, methods and assessments as well as leading modules yourself. Duties will include marking and giving feedback, acting as a personal tutor and mentor and providing pastoral support to students. You will also be expected to engage in subject, professional or pedagogic research and/or other scholarly activities to inform your teaching.

With Professorial and Reader leadership in place, the School of Management and Marketing has ambitions to transform its current standing in the next REF exercise. We welcome applications from those with research ambitions and can offer substantial research hours and allowance to candidates with the potential to contribute to this area. The School is research active and will increasingly be so. The School Director of Research is leading on a 5 year Research & Knowledge Exchange plan that will extend the School into the wider London Business community. 3* and above publications have been rising year on year, and we wish to see this continue.
