Salary:

Lecturer Grade F: £33,966 to £44,263 per annum, pro rata

Lecturer Grade G: £45,585 to £54,395 per annum, pro rata

The Role

 

You will join a dynamic and vibrant Leadership, Work and Organization (LWO) Subject Group that is committed to collegiality and academic citizenship. You will complement LWO’s existing expertise and enhance the thematic areas of interest of our Management and Organisation or our Work, Employment and HRM research and scholarship communities.

 

We are seeking a passionate scholar in the management field. Your passion will come across in your teaching and support for the student experience at all levels as well as in your commitment to engaging with communities beyond the University. The role holder will contribute to teaching and assessment across a range of UG and PG modules in the broad management/HR field, as well as undertaking dissertation supervision.

 

For this T&S role, you must have; a relevant professional qualification, Masters degree or a PhD in a relevant subject (or a PhD near completion – i.e. strictly within three months of submission), and a strong scholarly profile or trajectory. You must also be able to demonstrate teaching and scholarship excellence in Management.

 

The University has developed an Academic Job Summary Guidance document which summarises the range of activities that academic staff may be expected to perform.

 

The position is 0.6FTE (on a flexible basis) and fixed term, to begin as soon as possible but ending 31st March, 2026.

Key Accountabilities

 

  • To have a commitment to high quality teaching and learning and student support
  • Provide high quality research-led teaching of modules within the Business School
  • Coach and support students throughout their studies in the role of personal tutor
  • Mark assessment of modules in accordance with University standards and utilise on-line and digitised curricula and education frameworks
  • Contribute to curriculum development
  • Contribute to the scholarly and practice profile of the Business School by engaging in scholarly research and activities, impact and practice
  • Demonstrate impact by developing practice-based solutions to real-world problems, produce scholarly outputs and engage with external stakeholders to develop the impact of your work and the life of the School
  • Provide education for life, that engages, challenges and supports our students to discover and fulfil their potential both while they are studying with us and once they have graduated
  • Contribute to the Business School’s Triple Accreditation and Professional Body Accreditations
  • Operate as an active citizen in the Business School community

Qualifications

  • A good Honours degree in a relevant subject
  • At least one of the following: (i) a relevant professional qualification or Masters degree; (ii) a PhD (or equivalent) at or near completion – i.e. strictly within three months of submission, in a relevant management discipline.
  • A profile with currency which meets external accreditation bodies criteria

  • Professional Body Membership as appropriate to the Subject area
