Salary:From £28,419 - £41,874 per annum

• The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS. To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS)

Contract: MC Lecturer, Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

Teaching Hours: 864 per annum

Annual Leave: 45 days per annum, plus statutory Bank Holidays

Pension: Teachers’ Pension

About the College

• Middlesbrough College is the largest General Further Education College in the Tees Valley and has been situated in Middlehaven, Middlesbrough, since 2008. It has developed from the initial main site to the vibrant campus that is now in place with our Campus Heart, dedicated Sixth Form, STEM Centre, Higher Education Centre, and further development for our apprentices in progress.

About the role

To plan and deliver a wide range of challenging, relevant learning and work experiences that ensure all learners can develop and apply the skills, knowledge, behaviours and attitudes required for the 21st Century learning, life and work.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards.

• Hold a relevant Degree, or equivalent.

• Hold GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.

• Have relevant experience of teaching GCSE Mathematics and delivering exam-based qualifications (Functional Skills desirable).

• Have current knowledge of the Ofsted EIF, and the impact of this on classroom delivery.

• Display evidence of disseminating good practice effectively.

• Have the ability to prepare high quality teaching materials including the effective use of Information Learning Technology supported by key software.
