Job description

Fixed Term Contract for up 12 months Full time or 18 months Part time About this role In this operational role you will work collaboratively with both academic and clinical colleagues to ensure effective allocation and support of Apprentice Nursing Associates within clinical placements.  Some teaching is also expected in preparing Apprentice Nursing Associates for work related learning and in supporting the quality assurance of Placement Learning environments across NHS and social care environments. This is a Fixed Term contract for 12 months full time, however, consideration will be given for the right candidate on a part-time basis which would need to cover activity Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  As a Lecturer within the School of Nursing and Allied Health, you will be part of the teaching team in a developing capacity. You will be provided with assistance to adapt into the Higher Education environment, with the support of a mentor and/or senior colleague. You will contribute to the development, support and assessment of practice learning opportunities for all our apprentices, providing them with a high-quality, research informed educational experience. You will also contribute to progress reviews and developments in response to the professional and interprofessional agendas, supporting collaborations with clinical colleagues to develop and prepare appropriate clinical placements including PA/PS preparation and educational audit/clinical liaison.   About you Those wishing to apply must be a practicing registered nurse or Nursing Associate currently on the NMC register with a breadth of knowledge in NMC based practice-based learning and have an awareness of current initiatives related to apprenticeships. You will ideally be educated to a minimum of BSc level for RN or FdSc level for NA with evidence of further level 6 education, and be a practice assessor/ practice supervisor. Your teaching will be informed by a combination of practical experience and/or research to support high quality learning and teaching, experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), and the use of technologies to enhance the learning, assessment of and feedback to students. You’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, excellent teaching methods with the ability to develop a variety of approaches to learning and teaching that is student-centred, inclusive and flexible.
