Job Description
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Science specialising in Physics & Chemistry to join our team. As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and providing support to students in the field of Science. This is a full-time, permanent position based in an FE College in Norfolk.
Job Duties:
- Deliver lectures and practical demonstrations in Level 2 Physics and/or Level 3 Chemistry to College students.
- Design and develop engaging lesson plans and teaching materials.
- Provide guidance and support to students in their learning journey.
- Assess and evaluate student work, provide constructive feedback, and grade assignments and exams.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance.
- Stay updated with advancements in Physics and Chemistry and incorporate relevant industry trends and research into teaching approaches.
- Supervise and mentor students during laboratory experiments and research projects.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and programme review activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience and contribute to the academic community.
Required Qualifications:
- A degree in Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience teaching Level 2 Physics and/or Level 3 Chemistry.
- Strong knowledge of scientific principles and theories in Physics and Chemistry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively explain complex concepts and engage students in the learning process.
- Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in assessing student work.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and software.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in mentoring and supporting students.
- Membership or affiliation with professional bodies in the field of Science.
