We are currently looking for a Lecturer in Strategy and Operations Management to join Bristol Business School and are seeking someone who can contribute fully to departmental activities, including teaching, research and external engagement. We are seeking expertise in Strategy and/or International Management. The focus of this role is to deliver outstanding learning outcomes for our students through exceptional teaching and learning on academic programmes within the school and to engage in knowledge exchange, research or other activities that enhance and inform teaching design and curriculum development. We deliver an innovative practice-led curriculum at UWE Bristol and have a range of well-established stakeholder engagement activities regionally, nationally and internationally. The School comprises six subject clusters. One of the clusters is the Strategy and Operations Management (SOM) cluster, which also covers International Business, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Information Management and Innovation and Enterprise. The post holder will join a vibrant and growing team of academics who are engaged in a broad range of scholarly activities and research. Colleagues in SOM contribute to teaching across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the wider College of Business and Law and the successful applicant will be expected to make a significant contribution to the teaching activities of the group at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. About you: The nature of the subject group’s teaching means that candidates should be confident, outgoing and comfortable working as part of a teaching team on large and sometimes interdisciplinary modules, as well as independently on smaller, specialist, modules. Candidates should hold a degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and be committed to teaching and research. To succeed in this role, you will require a sufficient depth and currency of specialist knowledge in Strategy and Operations with a specialism Strategy and/or International Management, ideally with the ability to contribute to other related subject areas within the cluster, demonstrate a commitment to teaching with the ability to engage and inspire students within a variety of academic settings, and be able design innovative teaching materials using a technology engaged approach.
