Lecturer / Senior Lecturer In Law

As our student numbers increase and we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are looking for high-calibre people to join our team as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Law at our Bristol Campus. We are seeking qualified solicitors, barristers who can demonstrate successful legal practice experience, or experienced law lecturers/academics with legal practice knowledge/experience. We are open to applicants in all areas of law, but have a particular need for applicants who are willing to teach criminal law and also for applicants who are willing to teach corporate/commercial law. Please note: These are full time permanent positions. We will also consider applicants for part time working with a minimum commitment of 3 days per week. As our Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer, you will: Teach across our postgraduate and undergraduate programmes Assess students (written work and oral skills) and provide feedback Undertake pastoral care and academic coaching Supervise dissertations and research projects Design assessments, and potentially course materials Attend open days, student enhancement and business development events Carry out other tasks to enhance the student experience We are looking for people who are/have: A good degree (2:1 or above unless there are extenuating circumstances) Either: (1) practice experience as a solicitor/barrister or (2) a Masters degree or PhD in Law or a related subject combined with teaching experience PgCHE, FHEA and at least two years’ teaching experience are required for appointment at Senior Lecturer level.
