Centre for Defence Management and Leadership Lecturer - Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £48,039 to £57,797 per annum with potential progression to £70,000 per annum Senior Lecturer - Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £60,099 to £69,505 per annum with potential progression to £85,000 per annum Location: Shrivenham, Oxfordshire About the Role This role will supplement the current expertise within CDML. The post holder would be expected to assist in the development of research, teaching and consultancy interests of CDML, both nationally and internationally with a particular focus on Defence Leadership and Management. At Senior Lecturer level, we expect the post holder to provide leadership, such as in course management, business development, preparing large funding bids and acting as a Principal Investigator on large, funded research projects. Key responsibilities include: Designing and developing modules, short courses and Masters programmes to an agreed professional and quality standard Teach and examine courses in Leadership and other management subjects Contribute to international teaching commitments Support and mentor students to successful completion of their studies Plan and carry out research and analysis in a specific field of Leadership and Management studies, contributing to the advancement of the discipline Publish papers in the key journals and deliver papers at conferences About You You will have a PhD (or nearing completion) in the social sciences, psychology, behavioral or political sciences. Appropriate teaching experience within the leadership, organisational psychology/behaviour fields or political science field is essential. You will have experience within the defence or wider security sectors of the UK or an allied state; a track record of high-quality research publications and experience in collaborative research involving academics from other disciplines and/or users. Additionally for Senior Lecturer, you will have Course Director experience at undergraduate or Masters level, extensive professional experience with a substantial reputation in your research field. You will have substantial contributions in research, teaching and Leadership and Management. A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) and/or Membership of Higher Education Academy is desirable.
