Location: Waterside Campus Documents Job Description.pdf (PDF, 167.28kb) About the job Part time: 0.8FTE (29.6 hours per week) Interview date: 05 April 2024 This is a 0.8 FTE, permanent post for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Developmental & Educational Psychology. The post will require you to undertake teaching, assessment and related activities in the areas of Developmental and Educational Psychology, with core teaching duties on our BPS accredited Psychology undergraduate and postgraduate courses. We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another. With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy. About you You will have a strong educational background in Developmental & Educational Psychology or a closely related discipline, as well as at least one other core area of Psychology. A working knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods is essential. Previous experience of teaching in Further/Higher Education is a distinct advantage. A dedication to providing a personalised and supportive student learning experience is essential to the post. You will have well developed written and verbal communication, time management and organisational skills and an effective approach to completing tasks. Good IT skills, including competence in using virtual learning environments and remote teaching platforms is essential. Qualifications Essential; Degree qualification in Psychology with eligibility for GBC with the British Psychological Society Doctorate in Psychology, completed or within 12 months of completion Desirable; Master’s degree in Developmental and/or Educational Psychology or related discipline Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale Faculty The Psychology Subject Area at the University of Northampton is a large, collegiate and supportive department with a culture of student focused teaching and high impact research.
