Our client is an independent studio which produces, finances, and distributes premium award-winning film and television content for a global audience.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer to join the International Business & Legal Affairs team based in the London office.
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will be responsible for a range of work, including legal, administrative, contract management and rights tracking support.
The role requires an organised, adaptable and collaborative team member with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft distribution agreements and related documentation for International Sales and UK Distribution including negotiations with distributors and financiers
- Draft Notice of Assignments and related production lender documents in connection with financial closings on acquisitions and in-house productions
- Utilise the rights management system to drive workflow and contract tracking
- Other legal tasks (e.g. chain of title, NDAs, intermediary agreements)
- Contract administration (e.g. tracking and monitoring international deal flow, filing distribution agreements, managing international delivery requirements and drafting relevant delivery documents)
The successful candidate will have experience drafting and negotiating distribution agreements for film sales, as well as expertise across issues of ownership, windowing and rights management. You will able to prioritise workload and apply initiative to solve problems.
