Legal Officer (Housing Disrepair)

Initial 3-6 month contract
Rate: circa £25 Umbrella, may be negotiable
This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual to join a friendly, committed and highly regarded in-house legal team to help the Council deliver best value in relation to housing stock, as well as making a real contribution to the quality of life and sustainability of the borough. Having set up a designated Housing Disrepair Team we are looking to recruit another Legal Officer to join the team.
The postholder will carry a full caseload with supervision and will undertake all aspects of legal work relating to Housing Disrepair cases.
A formal legal qualification is not necessary; however, you will need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a high standard of written English.
You may have experience of working in a legal office in a Legal Officer, Paralegal or similar capacity, most importantly we are looking for individuals who are accustomed to working at pace in a busy team.
An interest in and enthusiasm for local government is important, as is the desire to work as part of a team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate self-motivation, flexibility and excellent organisational skills.
The ability to work to tight timescales/deadlines is essential for this role. Experience of disrepair procedures or other types of litigation work is desirable but not essential
