Job Description: Legal Secretary

We are looking to appoint a Legal Secretary for our busy Private Client and Family Department.

The Role

You will be responsible for assisting both departments with the following tasks:-

  • opening and closing files;
  • dealing with initial enquires and making appointments;
  • dictation;
  • drafting some legal forms with guidance/instructions;
  • standard letters;
  • carrying out AML checks;
  • engrossing documents for signing;
  • preparation of court bundles;
  • dealing with filing of court forms using online portal systems;
  • making and receiving telephone calls;
  • Paper and online filing and storage of documents;
  • Photocopying and some other general office duties.

Experience would be preferred but not strictly necessary as full training can be given.

Person Specification

  • Excellent Computer literacy skills and ability to learn data entry in Solicitors Own Software (SOS) database;
  • Excellent communications skills and attention to detail;
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time although part-time working may be considered for the right candidate.
