Legal Transformation Assistant (Temporary, Full Time)

Salary up to £35,000 pro rata dependent on experience plus excellent pension scheme, 28 days’ annual leave and volunteering days, life assurance and corporate discount scheme

What will I be doing?


Working within the Legal team you will be responsible for assisting the implementation of KCOM’s transformation project. This includes the provision of a new document management system for the legal function and performing reviews of standard terms and conditions presented by 3rd party suppliers via KCOMs Procurement and IT functions.


Some of your key accountabilities will include:


  • Delivering a new document management system for the Legal function within KCOM Group Services, including:

o Liaising with stakeholders to identify current contract repositories;

o Organising the collation of documentation held in current contract repositories;

o Liaising with stakeholders in the development of a new document management system and guidance notes for stakeholders; and

o Protecting files, obtaining approvals and saving contracts to the new document management system.

  • Working with the Legal, Procurement and IT teams in managing the review of standard terms and conditions, including:

o Flagging risks to the business on matters like limitation of liability and termination rights;

o Being the first point of contact in Legal for the Procurement and IT teams where standard supplier and software terms are concerned; and

o Where such contracts are negotiable, assisting the Legal team with proposed amendments to such contracts.

  • There will also be scope to assist the Legal team with legal research tasks and fulfilling the day-to-day ‘business as usual’ queries from stakeholders.


What do I need to do this job?


  • Experience working a Paralegal within a Corporate environment
  • Knowledge of Document Management
  • Confident working with Terms and Conditions within IT and Procurement
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport at all levels quickly.
