About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lettings Officer to join our team in Oldham on a full-time permanent basis.

Working closely with a number of our customer-facing teams to ensure homes are let within target and safely, you will:

  • Focus on completing mutual exchange allocations
  • Manage the end-to-end lettings process for mutual exchanges, tenancy changes and succession applications.
  • Manager other relets and tenancy management allocations as required.
  • Conduct applicant eligibility and pre-tenancy procedures.

Some Lettings Officers also manage specialist services within the Tenancy Services Team, such as supported housing, new build lettings, transfers, management moves and marketing of low demand homes.

About the team

The Lettings team consists of 50 people all working hard to deliver an amazing customer focused lettings service. You will be part of a team of 28 Lettings Officers and 11 Lettings Assistants who between them let around 3500 homes a year.

The team have developed a brilliant lettings experience, making it easy for customers to do business with us by increasing our electronic communication and digital services. Our teams have a warm and friendly approach and work collectively and proactively to get things done timely and with quality for the customer.

About you

As a Lettings Officer, you will juggle lots of different tasks and work to tight deadlines, so as well as having excellent customer service skills, the successful candidates will also possess:

  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • An understanding of the importance of regular consistent communication – by phone, email, text, or letter.
  • Great listening skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • The ability to recognise the importance of service improvement with a focus on great customer outcomes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow agreed procedures and processes.

Ideally, we’re looking for people with experience and understanding of mutual exchange processes in a registered provider, public or private sector environment who has passion for brilliant customer service and celebrating great performance.
