Brief Description

We are looking for Brent borough residents who are interested in completing a Level 2 Groundworker apprenticeship. The successful candidate will spend 18 months working as a Groundworker Apprentice as part of the CITB / Flexi-Job Shared Apprenticeship Scheme. Employed by Evolve Apprentices while completing the apprenticeship.

Qualifications Required

English GCSE G/1 or above (or equivalent)
Maths GCSE G/1 or above (or equivalent)

Skills Required

Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Team working, Initiative, Patience, Physical fitness, Comfortable with heights

Training to be Provided

Apprentices without level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.

£6.40 - £11.44 (National Minimum Wage for your age)

Monday-Friday, weekends unlikely but depends on the work available. Minimum of 35 hours per week but this may increase depending on the site work available. Working hours will be confirmed by contractor during the Stage 2 Interview.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Alongside general labouring, Groundworkers work in construction and civil engineering sites, and they work closely with supervisors and engineers in interpreting design specifications to prepare the site ready for the structural building works to take place. They continue their work throughout the construction phase, working with all on-site construction trades, such as bricklayers and plant operatives, up to and including the final completion activities of the project.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The qualification you would gain is the Level 2 Groundworks Apprenticeship (Standard) where we will be looking to partner with a training providing to provide the training, provider not yet confirmed.
This training will include a paid study day either via remote or in college training, once enrolled, up to 7 hours/1 day per week. This apprenticeship may also be managed via block release, from the National Construction College in Norfolk. You will be responsible to managing/arranging with your line manager.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On completion of this apprenticeship, you can work as a qualified Groundworker worker where, with more experience, you can look to progress or work your way up to a foreman/supervisor position. With experience and drive, you could end up as a manager or even run your own company.
You will be eligible for the Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card after the Level 2 qualification.________________________________________
