The Governing Body of St. Matthias CE Primary School in Malvern is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work across the school to provide support for children with a range of additional needs. St Matthias is a school with a warm heart that is proud to serve the local community for the common good. We are looking for an individual to work closely with identified children who require additional support or specific interventions to support rapid progress. This includes children who are eligible for Pupil Premium, those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and other vulnerable groups. The Teaching Assistants will be expected to provide class-based support for children as well as delivering specific, tailored programmes of learning. This might include supporting well-being and social skills interventions for individuals / small groups of pupils with challenging behaviour. Experience of working with children across the primary age range is desirable. Applicants should state any particular areas of expertise they may be able to bring to the school.
This is an opportunity to work as part of a dedicated and aspirational staff team to support groups and individuals in making rapid progress. The duties and responsibilities allocated to the post will be based on the skills, experience, knowledge and qualifications of the individuals appointed.

• Have some experience of leading evidence-based interventions. (For example: Phonics, Maths, Reading, Jimbo Fun, etc.)

• Be committed to raising the level of achievement for all pupils, regardless of economic background or other need
• Have a positive, cheerful attitude
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team
• Be willing to learn and be actively involved in training and improving
• Be able to reflect the Christian values of our school
• Committed to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
