A JLR Advanced Apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to broaden your mind learning the latest concepts and technologies at college, and then applying your learning on real life projects.
We’ll open your eyes to the future of automotive technology, giving you a platform to make a real difference to JLR and our customers, whilst enabling you to complete your Level 3 apprenticeship and achieve a vocational qualification relevant to your apprentice programme.
Property
Property is responsible for providing great working environments. We deliver business value that supports future growth and profitability and transforms the delivery of real estate services providing workplace environments that our employees are proud of and exudes modern luxury. The department is responsible for the provision and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, plant and equipment serving the site.
You will be responsible for carrying out valuable maintenance; fault-finding repair and installation work in a variety of buildings with state-of-the-art vehicle design and test facilities. You will perform activities such as general plumbing, kitchen/toilet installations/fault-finding and repairs, low- and high-pressure hot water systems, pneumatics, installation and repair, hydraulics, drainage, installation and repair, general plant room maintenance, heating/ventilation and air conditioning systems to general building and site infrastructure.
Some travel between our Gaydon, Whitely and Ryton sites is required in this role.
The Apprenticeship
The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship – Property is an exciting four-year programme which will develop your practical skills and cultivate the knowledge you need for your role, including business behaviours such as team working and problem-solving.
During your apprenticeship, you can expect to spend a significant amount of your first year at our training provider: MAKE UK in Birmingham, B6 7EP. In your first year you’ll complement your studies by working at a JLR plant alongside members of our skilled teams. In subsequent years, you will predominantly work in the plant, and you’ll continue your studies leading up to your End Point Assessment. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will have constant guidance and support from both the business and the training provider.
What's Required?
You will need to have achieved or be on track to achieve GCSE Maths and English Language at level 4 (C) alongside three further GCSEs at level 4 (C) or higher, including one STEM (science, technology, engineering or maths) subject or an Engineering vocational qualification at Level 3/90 credits/540 GLH or higher.
