Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship - Property (Estates Management), Halewood

Start Date: 9th September 2024

Programme Duration: 4 years.

Location: Halewood, Liverpool

Hybrid working is potentially available, depending on the area and manager. JLR is a multi-site business and you’ll be required to spend time working with different departments at several locations.

You could not have chosen a more exciting time to take your first step on your career path with us. An apprenticeship with JLR introduces you to automotive innovation that you will be able to experience first-hand – and one that is always looking to tomorrow and beyond.

Arrive as you are. Achieve the exceptional.

A JLR Advanced Apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to broaden your mind learning the latest concepts and technologies at college, and then applying your learning on real life projects.

We’ll open your eyes to the future of automotive technology, giving you a platform to make a real difference to JLR and our customers, whilst enabling you to complete your Level 3 apprenticeship and achieve a vocational qualification relevant to your apprentice programme.

Halewood

Halewood is home to the iconic Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport and is central to our manufacturing operations. Whether you focus on body, paint, trim and final, launch or Materials, Planning and Logistics, you will experience the end-to-end production of our vehicles.

This is an exciting time to join Halewood, as we develop the new generation of electric cars, which will be delivered in 2025. This landmark launch will bring together diverse technologies to realise our innovative Electrical Modular Architecture (EMA) platform – and you can play your part in making it happen.

Plant Maintenance and Site Services

Our Plant Maintenance and Site Service teams at Halewood are responsible for the ongoing monitoring, maintenance and control of all equipment used in the manufacturing process, as well as driving process and facility improvements. This is a great opportunity to learn the key skills you will need for a fast-moving manufacturing career.

This is hands-on, real-world engineering, utilising a range of toolsets, methods and practices and benefiting from extensive on-the-job training, to learn all about problem solving and applying data analysis techniques.

Apprentices working in Plant Maintenance will be involved in the building and installation of manufacturing facilities and work to maintain the facilities to maximise the time they run efficiently through learning preventative and predictive Maintenance techniques.

Apprentices working in Site Services will be responsible for carrying out valuable maintenance; fault-finding repair and installation work in a variety of buildings with state-of-the-art vehicle design and test facilities. You will perform activities such as general plumbing, kitchen/toilet installations/fault-finding and repairs, low- and high-pressure hot water systems, pneumatics, installation and repair, hydraulics, drainage, installation and repair, general plant room maintenance, heating/ventilation and air conditioning systems to general building and site infrastructure.

The Apprenticeship

The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship – Manufacturing is an exciting four-year programme which will develop your practical skills and cultivate the knowledge you need for your role, including business behaviours such as team working and problem-solving.

Your apprenticeship pathway will depend upon the area of the business in which you will be based. You will be asked for your preference on business area ahead of attending an assessment with us.

In your first year, your time will be spent studying at our education provider and working at a JLR plant alongside members of our skilled teams. In subsequent years, you will predominantly work in the plant, and you’ll continue your studies leading up to your End Point Assessment. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will have constant guidance and support from both the business and the training provider.

Your education provider will be Make UK, operating out of North West Training Council, Unit 33 Wellington Employment Park, Dunes Way Liverpool L5 9RJ.

What's Required?

You will need to have achieved or be on track to achieve GCSE Maths and English Language at level 4 (C) alongside three further GCSEs at level 4 (C) or higher, including one STEM (science, technology, engineering or maths) subject or an Engineering vocational qualification at Level 3/90 credits/540 GLH or higher.

We value new and diverse talent, unconstrained and innovative thinking, and fresh insights and perspectives to support us in developing class-leading products. An interest in manufacturing is desirable, along with real excitement and passion to help JLR deliver next-generation products and technology.

If you do not hold or are not studying for the qualifications above but believe that you have equivalent awards or skills, please contact us at apprent@jaguarlandrover.com for a discussion before submitting your application.

Our 2024 apprenticeship programme salary is £15,800. You’ll also enjoy a generous holiday allowance, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, an excellent pension scheme and access to a wide range of deals and discounts from retailers and sports clubs.

You will be applying your curiosity and creativity every day as you begin to hone your skills for a successful, impactful career. You own your development, and only you can make it happen. We’ll be right by your side in your pursuit of exceptional, and we’ll give you all the encouragement and support you need.
