SP Training will fund and support you to gain your LGV Instructor qualification.

There are exciting opportunities for candidates to join our growing team of experienced Driver Trainers on a full or part time employed basis in Cumbria. Our clients include some of the largest and most successful retailers and haulage companies in the UK. Qualified trainers will start on £30,000 with the opportunity for non-qualified individuals with the right background to become a trainee. Candidates must have held an LGV licence for a minimum of 3 years and be an experienced driver. There are also opportunities for part time trainers to join our team.

Is this role for me?

In this role you will join a well-established team of trainers to deliver driver related training, evaluate, and monitor the progress of learners and support them through the test process.

Duties and Responsibilities include

• Delivery of LGV learner driving courses to DVSA test standard to a cohort of committed learners.
• Preparing candidates for DVSA LGV theory and driving tests
• Undertaking driver assessments and development of LGV licence holders.
• Assessing and ensuring that participants have the required skills to effectively and safely perform the driving duties that their role requires.
• Responsibility for the supervision of course participants and risk assessments, Health & Safety requirements relevant to driver training.

Qualifications/ Knowledge Required

• LGV C&E Driving Licence (3 years minimum)
• 3 Years’ worth of LGV driving experience
• A good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to use a computer
• Instructor qualifications beneficial but training can be provided
