SalaryThis is an exciting opportunity at Canterbury Environment Company.
We are looking for experienced refuse drivers to deliver a professional service across the Canterbury District. You will have an LGV licence and current CPC certification.
You will be a team player who will be able to carry out our refuse and recycling collections whilst complying with safety rules and Health and Safety at Work requirements.
Duties include driving, collection and disposal of refuse and all other waste related tasks assigned by the manager. You will be required to use an “in-cab” device to ensure all requests for additional work and missed bins are completed and recorded and will use one of our handheld PDA systems to receive jobs and complete worksheets. You will also need to undertake vehicle exterior and interior washing and cleaning as well as daily vehicle checks, ensuring that any defects are reported. The job can be physically demanding at times so you will need to be happy getting stuck in.
In return, we offer a permanent and full time contract with guaranteed hours and company benefits including a pension scheme. There will be opportunities to work overtime and you will be required to work on a Saturday when a catch-up service is running. You will undertake a comprehensive induction and full uniform and PPE will be provided.
