Halton Libraries is an innovative, successful service at the heart of the local community with 4 service points across Runcorn and Widnes plus a large successful Outreach Service. We deliver key reading, health, learning, information, digital and culture offers including IT support, clubs and activities, access to digital resources and a thriving events programme.

The role of Library Information Assistant is extremely varied and directly contributes to our successful service through the delivery of events, class visits, Rhyme times and digital activities as well as providing IT support and an information service to our library users.

We are committed to workforce development and offer our team a range of training opportunities.

We are seeking to appoint individuals with both a passion for libraries and experience of delivering excellent customer service. With effective communication skills, you will enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and will have a positive outlook to service development and change.

We have 2 roles available, a 24.88 hrs per week permanent role and a 18.8 hrs per week fixed term role (Until 31/03/2025). These roles will be based across Widnes and Ditton Libraries on a rota basis working every other Saturday until 2.30pm, with some travel to Halton Lea and Runcorn Libraries when and if needed.
