Understanding Recruitment NFP are delighted to be exclusively partnering with National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) to recruit for a newly created Chapter Lead role for their Technology team.
The Technology Chapter aims to be a centre of excellence for internal digital services that support the National Deaf Children’s Society in achieving its strategic objectives.
As a Chapter Lead, you’re responsible for building world class capability in your chapter. You’ll be a promoter and ambassador of the National Deaf Children’s Society’s culture, behaviours, and agile working.
You’ll bring knowledge and expertise of the Chapter specialism and develop this expertise and capability in your chapter members through advising, coaching and role-modelling.
What might a day in the life of a Chapter Lead look like?
- Promote and champion the culture of the organisation.
- Lead an authentic, proactive approach to informative two-way communication and engagement amongst the chapter ensuring chapter members are informed and kept aligned to the overall strategy and other important information
- Work closely with the Platform Leads to understand backlogs, priorities and opportunities for development.
- Support governance and legal compliance frameworks.
- Scale back, streamline or remove unnecessary processes, systems, procedures, that are impeding or blocking progress.
- Share knowledge and align development across your chapter members.
- Develop a balanced skillset that spans the chapter and can be deployed to specific squads as and when needed.
- Monitor the performance of chapter members through feedback and progress metrics
- Support personal development and growth of chapter members.
- Guide and review the delivery of any essential operational tasks and activity within the chapter, ensuring this is carried out effectively alongside the squad work.
- Participate in development and delivery squads.
Skills required for the Chapter Lead are:
- Advanced understanding of Agile working, values and principles
- Experience leading a team of multi-disciplinary specialists
- Proven experience leading an IT Service delivery function, ideally with ITIL certification.
- Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft systems and services (including O365, PowerPages, SharePoint and Azure).
- Comfort with IT service management and principles of continuous service improvement.
- Understanding of the principles of change management
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 plus excellent benefits
