Job description

Great opportunity for a Linux Administrator to join a fast and challenging environment as a member of the client’s global infrastructure team. You will be responsible primarily for services provided from LA whilst working alongside international colleagues to support a busy, vibrant company.

This role includes support and development of the company’s network and server infrastructure with a high priority on end user service and security. You will have an extensive knowledge of security best practices, AWS and multiplatform server environments.


Key Responsibilities as Linux Administrator:

  • Day to day administration of Linux servers.
  • Supporting developer CI/CD pipelines with Github.
  • Provide on-call support after hours and on weekends on a rotating basis with the global team.
  • Work to ensure the confidentiality of our projects in collaboration with the global security team.
  • Work on infrastructure projects in collaboration with the global infrastructure team.
  • Produce technical and non-technical documentation of systems and procedures.
  • Test and deploy updates to software, with a particular emphasis on security.
  • Ensure adequate backups of data are kept both on and off site and that backup and restore processes are regularly tested.

Key Requirements:

  • College degree (BA or BS); technical degree preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux is a must.
  • Have experience working as part of a team to deliver apps and services, and will able to collaborate/ communicate with application stakeholders in other time zones.
  • Knowledge of Mac and IOS devices advantageous.
  • MySQL, Postgres, Nginx, and Apache administration experience is essential.
  • Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker.
  • Experience with Linux server configuration/administration/automation with an emphasis on reliability and scaling.
  • Familiarity with automation technologies such as Terraform
  • Knowledge of DAM platforms and workflow tools, such as Nuxeo.
  • Used to working in a cloud virtualised environment such as AWS
  • Windows environment experience: DNS/DHCP/GPO, and file sharing protocols
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools such as Logicmonitor, etc, advantageous
  • Scripting experience (YAML, Bash, Python, Powershell, etc.)
  • Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Performance analysis and optimisation a plus.
