Job Summary:
We are seeking live-in carers to join our team on an on-call basis. This position is designed to provide flexibility and autonomy while ensuring that you are prepared to step in and deliver exceptional care whenever our clients require assistance.
Preparation for Placement:
- We will facilitate a DBS check to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
- References will be obtained in advance to confirm your qualifications and reliability.
- This proactive vetting process is designed to have all necessary documentation ready so you can start a placement promptly when a client’s need arises.
Responsibilities:
- Administering personal care tailored to the client’s needs, including hygiene assistance, dressing, and nutrition.
- Conducting household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
- Managing medication and assisting with mobility.
- Providing companionship, engaging in conversations, assisting with reading, and facilitating leisure activities.
- Monitoring the client's health and reporting any significant changes.
- Accompanying clients to appointments and social events as necessary.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, assisted living, hospice care, and patient care techniques
- Ability to administer medications accurately and safely
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Please note: This position is based on a zero hours contract, indicating that work is offered as and when required, depending on client needs.
