Job Summary:  This is a lovely family to work for, their current nanny has been with them for 5 years. Both parents work in high pressure jobs and the ideal nanny will value education, you will need to have excellent organisational and communication skills – there is a lot of autonomy in the role and so it is essential that you are confident to work on your own initiative and be proactive. During the school day you will manage your own time allowing for a good break. You will be expected to keep up with administrative duties including liaising with the schools, replying to emails and acting where needed. All three children are happy, confident, and kind. The parents believe in excellent manners and prioritise the children’s well-being and educational development. The family employ a full-time live-out housekeeper so you will only focus on the children’s stuff. This is a Monday to Friday role, no weekends required.

 

 

General duties:

  • Sole charge care of three children
  • Organising the children’s day to day actives – making sure school bags are packed, uniforms clean etc.
  • Working with the children on manners, social etiquette and encouraging independence
  • Overseeing homework, keeping on top of school admin, reading and replying to emails
  • Notifying the parents and update them on school events, activities, and subjects the children are learning (being proactive is essential)
  • Shopping for school supplies and running local errands.
  • School drop-off and pick-up (2 different schools) that are within a 15-minute commute. An automatic car will be provided.
  • Supporting the children educationally – they have tutors.
  • Responsible for the children’s laundry, managing their wardrobes, tidying their rooms, and preparing healthy meals.
  • Occasional overnights with additional pay

 

Salary: £56,000 gross per annum plus depending on your experience

 

Accommodation: Separate studio apartment with full kitchen within the main home

 

 

Candidate requirements:

  • It is essential you have excellent English communication skills to help with homework.
  • Experience with the Independent school system.
  • A good understanding and experience working with multiple school aged children (10-16) and able to navigate the 11+ and their Gcse exams.
  • The nanny would need to be able to act on their own initiative, be highly organised and have excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding that education is a priority for the children and can support the children with homework and what is needed educationally.
  • Someone who is fun but firm and a good role model for the children.
  • A confident driver is a must, car will be provided.

 

 

DBS check required at offer stage and first aid certificate.
