Our client is looking for an experienced Housekeeper to look after a large and traditional family home in Rutland. The house has 11 bedrooms although normally only one third of the house is in use on a daily basis. You focus will be on keeping the areas of the house that are used most often clean and tidy as well as keeping on top of the other areas of the property following a cleaning schedule. This is a busy informal household with 3 older children and three dogs. Mum works from home. T
Duties will include:
Hands on cleaning of the house and keeping it organised, clean and tidy, having a cleaning schedule as not all of the rooms will be used all of the time
Cleaning the kitchen, oven, fridge
Weekly bed changing
Household and personal laundry
Hand washing delicate items
Wardrobe management - packing and unpacking of cases
Arranging dry cleaning
Shopping for the household
Handling household petty cash and banking
Meeting and greeting guests / answering the door / taking in parcels and deliveries
Serving teas and coffees to the family and guests, making occasional snacks for the children
Assisting when the family are entertaining
Running errands
Dealing with trades and contractors
Property security
Keeping outside areas clean and tidy including the pool house
Dog sitting / dog walking / feeding - you must be a dog lover
Excellent references and Enhanced DBS Check required
This is a full-time role normally to Monday to Friday but you will be required to work 2 weekends per month taking your days off during the week
The family are informal and are looking for a flexible, experienced, discreet and down to earth Housekeeper.
