Job Summary:
As a Night Support Worker in our supported living facility, you will be responsible for providing overnight care and support to individuals with diverse needs. Your role is crucial in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our residents during nighttime hours.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring: Remain alert and vigilant throughout the night, regularly checking on residents to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Assistance with Personal Care: Provide assistance with nighttime personal care tasks such as toileting, repositioning, and ensuring comfort.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications according to prescribed schedules, adhering to proper procedures and documentation guidelines.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents that may arise during the night, following established protocols and procedures.
- Security and Safety: Maintain a secure and safe environment by monitoring entry and exit points, ensuring doors are locked, and addressing any security concerns.
- Assistance with Mobility: Assist residents with mobility and transfers as needed during the night, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of observations, interventions, and incidents that occur during the night shift. Update the company database to ensure everything is documented.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with other staff members, including daytime Support Workers, supervisors, and healthcare professionals, providing updates on residents' status and any significant occurrences.
- Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents who may experience anxiety, confusion, or difficulty sleeping during the night.
- Household Tasks: Perform light household duties such as tidying common areas, ensuring cleanliness, and completing any tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a supported living or healthcare setting.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and relevant training.
- Have knowledge of CQC Standards
Support Worker will have a bedroom to sleep although they must attend to all night calls and food and bills included.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £20,000.00-£22,000.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
