Housekeeper Job in Berkshire
Our clients are seeking a Housekeeper to work in a team at a stunning residence near Windsor, Berkshire. The successful candidate will work alongside the Head Housekeeper, as well as other Housekeepers and Cleaners, to ensure the maintenance of the property. This is a hands-on role that requires a professional Housekeeper who can work independently and as part of a team.
The house is one of many owned by the client and is visited only occasionally, but must be kept ready to receive visitors at all times. When the family is not in residence, the working hours are from 8am to 4pm with a 30-minute and 15-minute break. Lunch will be provided. However, when the family is in the residence, additional hours will be required, and these hours will be paid with overtime.
The ideal candidate should dress in a neat and polished manner, be discreet, polite and detail-oriented. They will be working with four other Housekeepers, so they must be a good team player.
The housekeeper duties will include but are not limited to:
- General high-standard cleaning of the main house, spa and out-buildings
- Cleaning and protecting fine antiques and paintings
- Polishing of brass and silver, washing woodwork
- Testing equipment throughout all areas of the house, spa and outbuildings
- Interior glass and window cleaning
- Deep and high-level cleaning – must be confident using ladders
- Vacuuming curtains and upholstery
- When the family are in residence
- Variety of duties when the family are in residence; from general cleaning, kitchen support, serving, servicing rooms etc.
Laundry Duties
- Very high-quality laundry and ironing of family and guest clothes, to include high end garments
- Ensuring that everything is washed in accordance with the colour and fabric type
- Very high-quality laundry and ironing of bed linens, tablecloths, napkins and any other items required
Salary: £33,000 plus over time when the family are in residence
Hours: 8am to 4pm when family are not in residence. When Family are in residence hours will be ‘as required’, to include evenings and weekends, overtime will be paid accordingly.
Break times: 15 minute break for tea and 30 minute break for lunch – teas, coffee, water, biscuits, fruit and a lunch will be provided for break and lunch times.
