We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Local Intelligence Officer in our Specialist Operations Department. Could you be who we are looking for?
About the team/Department you will be joining:
- We are responsible for managing the Intelligence and manage ‘live time’ bulletins including details around stolen vehicles, driving offences, wanted persons and anything which is likely to cause any Threat, Harm and/or Risk.
- We work closely with colleagues across South Wales Police to support ongoing investigations
- We receive intelligence and bulletins from partner agencies and disseminate relevant information to teams across South Wales Police.
- We utilise various intelligence tools to assist in identifying and locating suspects and their vehicles.
- We are responsible for establishing the intelligence picture to support policing of any large-scale sporting or music events as well as supporting any policing operations.
- Our team operate on a Monday to Friday basis, working standard office hours.
About the role and your key responsibilities:
- To gather, record and evaluate information received, to develop that information and thereafter to disseminate the resultant intelligence.
- To provide intelligence to assist all officers in dealing with crime and disorder matters
- Identifying suspects, enabling suspects to be traced, providing intelligence about local targets and crime and disorder
- Managing key tasks in an efficient and effective manner, to support the smooth running of the unit.
- Demonstrate the ability to use and review various Intelligence IT Systems to able to produce an intelligence product to support a policing purpose.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
- Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft applications
- Must be able to demonstrate investigative experience
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the area to be worked regarding local crime issues and have a cognisance of criminal activity in other areas
- Must have up to date knowledge of legislation and procedures
This role is suitable for part time/job share workers
The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
