Initial 3-6 month contract

Rate: Negotiable, indicate rate sought

36 hours per week

1. To provide legal advice to council officers and members, primarily in relation to housing disrepairs.
2. To develop and maintain strong working relations with key clients.
3. To carry out training for officers and members on legal and policy matters.
4. To appear in court on behalf of Lewes District Council or Eastbourne Borough Council, whether as prosecutor, claimant or defendant.
5. To remain abreast of key legal developments, primarily in relation to housing law, and to brief officers and members as appropriate.
