Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Locum Pharmacy Technician (Band 7) to join our team. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting pharmacy operations and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services. Responsibilities:
- Provide expert pharmacy support and advice to healthcare professionals, patients, and carers.
- Manage and dispense complex prescriptions and medication orders accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct clinical reviews and medication reconciliation to optimize patient care and safety.
- Oversee the preparation, assembly, and dispensing of medications, including controlled drugs and special orders.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement pharmaceutical care plans.
- Maintain accurate medication records and documentation, including patient profiles, prescription histories, and drug utilization reviews.
- Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory levels, including ordering, stock rotation, and expiry date checks.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures, including health and safety standards and legal requirements.
- Participate in the training and supervision of pharmacy staff and students as required.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent qualification
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician
- Extensive experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or clinical setting, including experience at Band 7 level
- Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in pharmacy practice, including medication management and pharmaceutical calculations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and colleagues
- Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
