Rate: negotiable, indicate rate sought
While hybrid working is permissible with this role the successful candidate must live within a commutable distance to Cardiff Magistrate's and Crown Court with occasional need to travel to other courts within South Wales
The post holder’s main responsibilities will be those of a litigation solicitor, with an emphasis on criminal regulatory prosecutions, but will also include the ability to get involved with other areas of work relating to litigation, subject to the applicant’s experience, career interests, and workload capacity – including but not limited to, education law (including Education Admission Appeals) and general civil litigation.
The role includes giving advice in relation to technical areas of law, policy, governance, and the Council’s functions; Judicial Reviews; conducting litigation; and where necessary and appropriate appearing as advocate for the Council in Court and at tribunals, hearings, and inquiries.
Other responsibilities will relate to other work carried out by the Litigation Team, including civil and criminal litigation.
