Shifts: The shift rota involves working alternating patterns of early and late day shifts including some weekends and bank holidays (night shifts are covered by a contract team). Early shifts start at 7am and late shifts finish at 10pm (each shift lasts 8 hours).
A central Oxford University college are looking for an enthusiastic and personable receptionist to join their team.
Duties:
- Operate access control to the College in accordance with Governing Body policy.
- Ensure the security of the College buildings and take appropriate action when fire or security alarms are activated.
- Monitor CCTV images in College, adhering to College CCTV and data security policies.
- Monitor and test the College fire alarm system, reporting faults and resetting alarms as required.
- Facilitate building evacuations during fire alarms and liaise with emergency services when necessary.
- Issue keys to College rooms and members, visitors, and contractors, maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain up-to-date records of arrivals and departures, addressing any discrepancies with the Conference office.
- Respond to emergency maintenance problems by coordinating with contractors and the Maintenance department.
Selection Criteria:
- Experience of greeting guests and visitors and making them feel welcome in a positive and friendly manner.
- Experience of basic clerical duties and office procedures.
- Attention to detail and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
- Computer literacy: Word, Excel and knowledge of booking systems.
- Able to successfully balance formality and informality and possess the ability to communicate clearly and deal confidently with a diverse range of people.
- Team working skills and a willingness to support and assist colleagues when required.
