Job description

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing operational logistics management support to existing and new clients by answering questions, resolving problems, and investigating any issues with conveyance and delivery providers.
  • Communicating with customers to confirm deliveries, any network issues, expected delivery dates and any other information requested.
  • Working closely with suppliers to ensure customer expectations are met in terms of quality, service, and timescale.
  • Support implementation of new suppliers, networks, customer onboarding etc.
  • Support in preparing reports and business cases.
  • Undertake data analysis in key areas such as rate card analysis, operational performance, budget and revenue etc.
  • Support the operational team as necessary to ensure any shipments and despatches are processed in a timely manner and train operational staff as required.
  • Support in managing and liaison with suppliers.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements in procedures and working practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support in updating supplier communications such as service alerts, operating procedures, and customer onboarding processes.

Competencies/Personal Requirements/Experience

  • Ability to understand and interrogate data quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to apply judgment in problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills both internally across distances and externally with customers and partners
  • Self-motivated, working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products (training will also be given)
  • A logical approach to problem solving is essential.
  • Ability to take an innovative approach.
  • Ability to develop and build relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong customer focussed attributes.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Project management skills are desirable.
  • Able to work independently and remotely and acceptance of working outside of normal office hours.
  • An ability to learn new skills rapidly.
  • To be able to be flexible when required and work within a changing environment
