General/Position Summary
The CGT Logistics and Distribution Associate Director will be central to supporting the setup, deployment and running of the logistics operation required for Cell and Gene Therapy across International region for our highly innovative genetic therapy for sickle cell disease and beta thalassemia.
Working cross functionally internally and with external logistics partners to ensure we have best in class delivery model for out CGT modality.
This is a Hybrid role based in Paddington, London.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide overall program management of logistics delivery model deployment for CGT .
- Understand all requirements across the region and collaborate with Vertex stakeholders and with 3PL logistics partners to define and document SOP .
- Proactively coordinate operational and project team meetings, agendas, action items, and cadence.
- Create a cross-functional logistics deployment roadmap, working collaboratively with individuals and the team as a whole.
- Develop tools and dashboards to monitor execution of launch activities
- Supports preparation of periodic updates to management, with specific accountability for summarizing key information such as program progress, timeline updates, and risk/opportunity assessments.
- Conduct complex scenario planning to proactively provide analysis and recommendations on alternative plans, along with the associated assumptions and risks.
- Implement appropriate internal team-level processes, communications, tools, and logistics.
- Interact with external vendors or partners required to support the launch planning efforts.
Required Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience
- Substantial experience of air and road freight logistics operations in pharma or biotech.
- Experience in working in temperature controlled and time critical logistics operations.
- Any experience in logistics model design and implementation for Cell and Gene Therapy is a distinct advantage.
- A strong preference for experience in the following areas:
- Program management
- Logistics delivery model implementation, across EMEA
- Specialty product or cell & genetic therapy experience.
Required Knowledge/Skills

- Proven ability to work in and influence a cross-functional team .
- Significant experience in managing complex project teams.
- Results-oriented and excellent analytical, strategic, business planning, communication, and decision-making skills.

- Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and self-prioritize workload
- Highly effective communicator (verbal and written) within all levels of the department and cross functionally throughout the organization.
- Able to communicate complex ideas across project boundaries, gaining alignment and persuading others to take action or adopt a different point of view.
