Logistics and Trade Compliance Specialist

Garrett Green are working with an organisation in West Sussex who are currently developing ground-breaking new technology for the services sector who are looking for a Logistics Specialist to focus on Customs and Trade Compliance for their International Trade routes. Countries of interest would be Japan, South Korea, China the USA and the EU.
This role will be vital in strengthening the trade networks, working closely across the organisation supporting international trade collaboration.
This role would be best suited for a Import/Export Planner, Trade Compliance Specialist, Logistics Manager, Customs Coordinator or other roles within International Logistics.
What you will be doing:
- Managing inbound and outbound logistics, speaking with suppliers, freight forwarders and carriers to arrange and expedite deliveries.
- Prepare shipping documents for domestic and international shipments raising purchase orders with freight forwarders and carriers.
- Provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of Trade Compliance, tariff interpretation and classification, valuation, clearance, and brokerage, import and export compliance, and preferential trade programs.
- Monitor customs and international trade operations looking for new trade agreements.
- Ensure compliancy with all trade-related regulations and duties.
- Respond to inquiries from HM Customs & Revenue and other third-party government agencies.
- Measuring performance against KPIs, suggesting and implementing improvements and changes.
- Work closely with Procurement & Supply Chain teams to manage all international transportation activities.
- Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to plan future warehouse capacity requirements.
- Assist in compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees.
What you will need:
- Experience with Trade Compliance - Particularly in Asia and the USA.
- Knowledge of Import/Export permits.
- Experience with dealing with Government and Customs officials.
- Membership of CILT or MILT/CMLT.
Salary:
£40,000
