Logistic Coordinator
Location - Wakefield WF2 6QW
Hours 8 - 4.30pm with 30 mins for lunch
Pay rate - £12.02
Manpower is currently looking for Logistics Coordinator to join our busy client based in Wakefield. Please note this is temp to perm position so we are looking or someone who is looking for long term work.
Our client is a leader in modular accommodation not only in the UK but around the world. They provide more buildings for hire than anyone else, including modular buildings for sale and rent, and off-site permanent buildings for sale for temporary, semi-permanent and permanent use.
As a Logistics Coordinator you will be someone with experience and knowledge in Logistics planning.
You should have a strong geographical understanding of the UK, along with familiarity with Lorry Loader Cranes or Tanker / Waste Management Services, advantageous.
You should possess influencing skills, a commitment to safety, and a customer-focused mind-set with business acumen. Your drive, passion for planning and delivery, and ability to build strong relationships will contribute to our team.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Reporting to the Regional Logistics Optimisation Planner, as a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective transportation of our modular building structures, temporary units, and welfare services. You will be responsible for executing the logistics plan, ensuring the correct driver and equipment is used to meet customer requirements while maintaining cost-effectiveness and compliance in line with KPIs, SLAs and legislation. You will have a dotted line into the Service Centre structure that you are based, ensuring the successful execution and delivery of all our products and services.

Health & Safety
* Being a passionate advocate for a strong health & safety culture, inspiring teams to prioritise safety and embrace environmentally friendly practices.
* Designing and executing safe, efficient transport deliveries that minimise risks and maximise cost-effectiveness.
* Driving effective communication and transparency by ensuring the sharing of Method Statements and Lift Plans internally and externally.
Working with Customers & Hauliers
* Cultivating strong relationships with our transport providers and key stakeholders, driving operational excellence.
* Communicating and executing customer plans that position our client as a preferred supply chain partner across all functions.
* Communicate with customers to arrange delivery & collections times, in line with the planned route and customer opening hours / restrictions.
* Providing real-time updates to customers, showcasing exceptional customer service.
* Highlighting areas for improvement through effective, timely communication.
Responsibilities within the Logistics team
* Collaborating closely with the Logistics Optimisation Planner for flawless delivery of products and services to customers, maximising vehicle utilisation and efficiency while minimising costs through strategic planning and optimisation.
* Taking charge of day-to-day allocation of own drivers to the plan.
* Responsible for ensuring all own and external drivers have all the correct information for all deliveries and collections.
* Responsible that all abnormal load movements are managed in line with C&U regulations.
* Maximising own vehicle utilisation by ensuring vehicle maintenance is planned and communicated in advance, liaising with the Compliance team and external providers.
* Responsible for ensuring the vehicle maintenance plan is adhered to in line with O Licence requirements.
* Ensure compliance paperwork is retained to meet O Licence requirements.
* Performance reports, including infringements, are communicated with drivers and remedial actions taken to avoid future reoccurrences.
* Building strong relationships with third-party hauliers for seamless coordination and exceptional service delivery.
* Report issues as they arise, offering support in providing a solution to minimise customer impact.
* Supporting team members, sharing experience, knowledge, and best practices.
* Demonstrating adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and legislative transport requirements.
* Supporting the Logistics operation to maximise delivery options and minimise costs.
* Complete Service Centre administration tasks, as required.
