Logistics & Purchasing Manager

Scantec FMCG recruitment are working in partnership with a leading Food manufacturing / processing business with one of their sites near Stirling. This is a well-established business with a fantastic culture of career development and support. They have been undergoing a huge amount of investment and growth over the past 6 months, with lots more planned – and this newly-defined role is part of this growth.

Role Purpose: 

Reporting to the Site GM, this role is to ensure optimum performance of the site packaging, purchasing and logistics function and to ensure that the purchasing of consumables is carried out to the most cost-effective benefit to the organisation at all times.You would manage a small team within the stores area. 

Hours of Work: 

Monday to Friday (core), 40 hours per week, on average. Some flexibility based on business needs. 

Summary of core duties & Responsibilities 

• Management of consumable purchasing, seeking out best value pricing and negotiating terms and conditions 
• Provide team leadership and management to stores staff 
• Ensure trailers are fit for purpose, at all times 
• Carry out administration tasks to support the job function and maintain appropriate filing of records and information e.g. invoicing, PO numbers 
• Oversee provision of trays and pallets to ensure sufficient quantities are available to meet organisational needs 
• Carry out stock-tacking in accordance with company programme 
• Monitor and report on use of key consumables. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

The ideal candidate will have experience of Logistics and Purchasing management in a similar environment. Don’t worry if you don’t have a huge amount of purchasing experience, this can be trained!
