Mac Operator /Pre-Press Technician

VACANCY: MAC OPERATOR / PRE-PRESS TECHNICIAN

Location: Manchester
Salary: £25k - £30k subject to experience

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

• You are an experienced Mac Operator / Pre-Press Technician.
• You are able to set up files ready for print.
• You are creative and highly IT literate.
• You possess solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.
• You have good knowledge of workflow software, ideally any of the following: iCut, Esko, Print Factory, Rip Softwares such as Thrive or Caldera.
• You are highly organised, can work to deadlines and able to manage your own work schedule
• As you will deal directly with our customers for artwork queries or when discussing briefs, you will be articulate and able to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.
• You are a great team player with a 'can-do’ attitude.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Using problem solving and design skills to prepare artwork for print.
• Checking and formatting text and graphics in a form suitable for use in our print processes.
• Making required artwork amends in order to supply proofs and print ready files.
• Ensuring that all proofs are sent on time in order to meet production schedules.
• Ensuring that artwork is produced in time to meet production schedules.
• Creating plates for litho printing.
• Acting as a source of information and advice for colleagues on technical and design matters.
• Working closely with the Production Team to resolve any issues in a timely fashion.

WORK DAYS AND HOURS:

• 37.5 hours / week: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm.
