Machine Operator

Apply today to work as a Machine Operator for our client based in the heart of South Wales, OP Chocolate Ltd, which has been baking quality wafers for over 75 years. This site bakes a range of molded wafers and biscuits and produces chocolate bars, wafer products, toffee, and mallow in our factory.
Staffline is recruiting Machine Operators in Merthyr Tydfil.
The rate of pay is GBP12.50 per hour.
This is a full-time role working rotating shifts, the hours of work are:
- 8am to 3pm
- 3pm to 10pm
Experience in a similar role is required.
Your Time at Work
As a Machine Operator you will operate all wrapping machines competently and safely in the Enrober, Mallow, and Moulding Departments. The role requires good knowledge of fault finding and problem-solving in either the single-wrap or multi-wrap machines.
You will be responsible for:
- Safely and competently operate wrapping machines both single-wrap and multi-wrap across
Enrober, Mallow, and Moulding Departments
- Accurately and legibly completing documentation associated with the role
- Performing basic maintenance eg changing cello, clearing jams or blockages
- Routinely monitoring the quality of the product-exiting machines
- Diagnosing and resolving operating problems as and when necessary
- Setting up and altering the position of code on bagging machines
- Adjusting tracking of cello
- Operating and understanding the main control panel
- Clearing blockages on weighing head
- Understanding the presentation of the product to the machine
- Calculating the machine running speed
Some manual handling will be required.
